The German word, "treppenwitz" literally means, "The wisdom of the stairs." You just had a screaming fight with your significant other, and as you're leaving, walking down the stairs steaming, you think of exactly what you should have said. Perhaps the killer riposte, or maybe the way to calm the troubled waters, but...a little too late.
We have something similar in bridge, "The wisdom of the post mortum." That's where you think of exactly how you should have played the hand two hours later in the bar or the next morning at breakfast. Try this hand.
