The most far out bridge book ever written is "Adventures in Card Play" by Geza Ottlik. It's a book about squeezes and trump coups that starts where Clyde Love's "Bridge Squeezes Complete" leaves off and takes the reader into some strange, gnarly landscapes where the cards do things that seem almost impossible. When I first read it, I decided that if I ever found one of those hands in actual play I'd have it inscribed on a brass plaque and hang it on my wall. Sadly, that place on the wall is still vacant, but an English friend sent me this hand with an English-style question appended, "What the bloody hell do you call this?"
A quick word about the auction. N-S were playing a convention called Ekrens that's common in Europe but not much played in the USA. 2
showed both majors with 6-10 points.
