The Double Strip Squeeze

The hand below is from a Westwinds vrs Deuces Riko match. This ending pops up every once in a while so it's useful to know.

Maybe I should have made the contract 6H to heighten the dramatic tension, or left it at 1ntX to see if we could scrape up down six, but...we were really only in game. Still, the breathtaking beauty and the perfect logic of bridge declarer play are at stake here...plus an overtrick!

The opening lead is the deuce of spades. We run off 10 major suit winners. West follows to 4 spades and two hearts, and then dumps the AQJ of clubs and a diamond.

It's not too hard to figure out the location of the club and diamond kings, East must have the club king or West would have led clubs. Without the club king, West must have the diamond king to reach his 10 HCP minimum.
