Bridge bidding systems operate smoothly with 14 or fewer HCP. When the hands get a bit bigger, say the 18-20 range, they start to squeak and grind a bit; in low 20s they sound as though someone dropped a fork in the garbage disposal, and when you hit 23+ they sometimes shriek to a halt in a cloud of greasy smoke.
Here are some Super-Size hands where the opening bidder might have been happy to toss an honor card or two back in the deck and replace it with a deuce to make the bidding easier. BTW, this isn't Challenge the Chumps or any other kind of Bridge Forum or quiz, just some hands to think about. I'll tell you what I think below.
