The Way It Is

"The Riko Hands" screen is the "base" screen for the set of hands. The attached collection of bridge hands are circularly linked both forward and backward in time by the "Hand: Next" and "Hand: Prior" buttons. Clicking "Next" goes forward in time to the next hand, and if clicked on the last available hand, comes back to "The Riko Hands" screen. Clicking "Prior" goes backward in time to the previous hand, and if clicked on the first available hand, also comes back to "The Riko Hands". The net effect is that continuously hitting either the "Next" or "Prior" buttons will cycle through all the available hands and eventually return to the starting point.

There's another way to access the hands, "The Index". It's an alphabetical listing of all the article titles that you can access from "The Riko Hands" screen. Find the one you want and click on it to go there. After you arrive, you can use the "Hand: Prior" or "Hand: Next" buttons as usual, or go back to the index by clicking the little 'x' in the upper right corner of the screen.

The "Text: Prior" and "Text: Next" buttons are similar to "Hand: Prior" and "Hand: Next". Clicking "Next" takes you to the next piece of text in the bridge article and "prior" to the previous piece of text. If you're at the final piece of text, clicking "Next" will take you back to the first piece, and if you're at the first piece of text, clicking Prior will take you to the last piece. As with "Hand: Prior" and "Next", "Text: Prior" and "Next", continuously hitting Prior or Next will cycle through all the text and come back to where you started.

The last button is "The Bridge Page" in the center. Clicking that takes you to my "Bridge Page" which has other bridge resources. To return here, locate the "Hands" section on the Bridge Page."

If you see scroll bars on the sides of the text or hand area, give the screens more room by deleting the various informational "bars" at the top and bottom of the screen. A good way to do that on "Internet Explorer" is to use the F11 key. That toggles back and forth between the ordinary mode with lots of information bars and "Full Screen" mode. Firefox has that facility as well, but at the moment it isn't working properly. On Firefox go to the "View" menu item and make sure "Status Bar" is unchecked, and then highlight "Toolbars" and make sure the other toolbars are unchecked.

To leave this "pop-up" screen and go back where you came from, just click the little "x" on the top line.
