LISA

(Low Information Standard American)

The last time you needed instruction on how to read a book the main characters were probably Dick, Jane, and Spot, but this is a new kind of book. Click on Navigation below for a writeup on how to read Internet books.

The "Change Log" list changes made to the system in order from latest to earliest. "Convention Card" is an online summary of the system.

Most of the differences between Standard American systems and Colonial Acol are in the one-level opening bids and some of the initial responses. As the auction develops, there are fewer and fewer differences between the two. "Introduction" describes the general principles in both systems. The "One-of-a-Minor" and "One-of-a-Major" sections below deal with Standard American opening one-bids. The major suit auctions are sub-divided into two sections: Eastern Style, a 2/1 system, and GorenPlus, a SAYC-like system (but, of course, much better). The minor suit auctions are the same for both.

That takes care of all the situations where we open the bidding. When the opponents fire the first shot, how do we react?
