Dr Grace really knows how to make a guy feel at home. The seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy, materializes in 1999 San Francisco Chinatown and gets shot by a local street gang. That puts him in Dr Grace's hospital and when she examines him and finds various peculiarities (Mostly the two hearts thing again) she decides to operate and kills him. Welcome to The City by the Bay! The Doctor regenerates into Paul McGann and then adopts Grace as a companion. Personally I'm not sure I'd pick the the girl who just put me on a slab as my new helpmate, but...forgive and forget. After polishing off The Master,the Doctor offers to take Grace with him in the TARDIS, but she declines.
Grace did give the Doctor his first serious romantic kiss. Prior to that, all he had was a little smack on the cheek form Nyssa. Maybe Time Lord sex is different than ours. Only every 1,000 years? Or it has to take place in the Hot Tub of Rassillon.

Daphne had an impressive career before the Doctor Who movie and is still steaming along after it. It seems that either she likes science fiction or science fiction likes her. As well as appearing in Dr Who, the BBC science fiction flagship, Daphne has also appeared in the USA equivilents Star Trek and Deep Space Nine. The Dr Who movie was supposed to be the beginning of a new series of adventures for the eighth Doctor but it didn't work out. The movie was a combined effort of BBC in the UK and Fox in the USA. It was popular in the UK but not in the USA. Too bad.
